Our First PMA Craft Show
· By Ford Forlano Art Jewelry
In 1990, two years after starting our business, City Zen Cane, we were accepted to exhibit at the Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show. We made jewelry, vessels and picture frames. At 26, we were still trying to figure out our creative business, pay taxes, take custom orders and all the rest. 32 years later, we are about to do our last PMACS next month. Come see us in booth 300, November 11-13, at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.

Torah Pointer Exhibit
· By Ford Forlano Art Jewelry
We were honored to be invited to make a Yad, or Torah Pointer for the Barr Foundation collection in Virginia. We made drawings and collages and that started a conversation about of what the object might be. We settled on a "Tree of Life" theme, with dozens of pinched polymer slices attached with wire to the polymer shaft. The tip of the pointer was covered in gold leaf. Earlier this year, highlights of the collection were shown at the Guiding Hand exhibit at the Chrysler Museum of Art in Norfolk, VA.

That & This, a special book project
· By Ford Forlano Art Jewelry
In 2021, David and Steve finished their first handmade, unique book. Called "That & This", it uses traditional bookbinding techniques along with printing, painting, drawing, stamping to visually tell the story of how we make decisions; "I like this, not that". Along with a brooch, and a archival printed booklet in a custom box, it was acquired by the Rare Books and Special Collections Division of the Library of Congress for their permanent collection. Watch a video of the book here.
