Three Shell Earrings, 2012, polymer, sterling silver, 1 3/4 x 1 3/4 x 1/2", $300./ea

More black and white shell work.  These earrings have two nested layers of embossed clay.  The centers are sterling silver, which is riveted to the back cup in the final assembly.

I like how the undulating organic edges which softens the geometry.  I have fun with the visual games and different systems of drawing–both in the cross section of clay, and the “printed” texture.

Women love how light weight and wearable the earrings are.

I think the next focus will be to bring out the possibilities in the metal work, with multiple centers, changes in scale, roller printed textures,  and maybe wire constructions to echo the linear drawings.
